New Year New Blog

So it might seem weird that the title of this post is ‘New Year New Blog’ as it is March not January… But I just celebrated a birthday… 31 to be exact. I’ve made so many changes in the past two months that it seems like it’s a new year and a new me.

I was blogging over on Life on Asa Pond last year; But I moved off of the pond in January and now live a town over. The new house is nice and comfortable (we’ve done some home projects that hopefully you’ll see here). There is not as much nature here as on the pond. I hope to still post some photo essays of life here. I do have a ton of birds that live around in the huge and beautiful trees that are on the property.

So since I’m no longer on the pond. I needed to change the name of the blog or start over. Since I love the posts that are still over there I decided to start over. Nothing is better than a fresh start.

Shot From The Hip is something that I’ve been toying with for a while. Mostly because that’s the way I take a lot of photos… camera strap across my chest and camera at my hip with my finger on the shutter. You’d be amazed at the things that you capture.

The Urban Dictionary defines “To Shoot from the Hip” as an expression which suggests the described person:
a. speaks or behaves in a brusque, honest fashion
b. does not censor their actions or words
c. speaks tersely; communicates with the fewest number of words

That is what I hope to bring to this blog. An uncensored honest account of what I’m thinking, doing, feeling, cooking, watching or photographing at the time.

I have a lot of ideas for this new blog and I hope that you’ll enjoy following my musings.

Cheers,
~ M
