One of the films that I just can’t wait to see is ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. The thing that really makes a movie for me is the promo material (i.e. Trailers, Posters, Facebook Updates), the soundtrack, the casting and of course the film itself. Guardians of the Galaxy has all the makings of this years biggest summer blockbuster! See below for my views on all of the above.

Release Date: AUGUST 1, 2014
Rated: Not Yet Rated
Run Time: 2 h 2 m
Genre: Action & Adventure, Science Fiction & Fantasy

Official Synopsis: From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team-the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits-Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand-with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. They have done the superhero poster RIGHT!!! The poster for Guardians of the Galaxy brings back the feeling that I get from the original ‘Star Wars’ poster which was done by Drew Struzan and The Brothers Hildebrand. I feel like the whole film is going to be a throw back to amazing 70’s and 80’s nostalgia. As one of my friends described it… ‘like an 80s Space Adventure’. I really can’t wait to see where this goes and how or if it will tie in with any other bits of the Marvel universe.
